Figure 1 contains six notes between the G and the high E, while Figure 2 contains a major 10th note, an octave plus a third note. Large intervals are attributed to the great melody of the Star-Spangled Banner.
The melody is lifted up by F# (the accidental) when the notes begin ascending in the Star-Spangled Banner. When an accidental turn occurs in a piece, it usually yields a more complex melody. A note that does not belong to the scale or mode that the key signature indicates is an accidental note. It is obvious that melody is an important component of song composition because it conveys emotion within the ear. The rhythm of a triple meter is comparable to a waltz, but it is less militaristic than the 4/4 time signature. The Star Spangled Banner is a triple meter piece, meaning that every third beat is given special emphasis. A rhythm can be classified into a number of subcategories. Rhythm is defined in music as the arrangement of sounds by the human ear, whether intentional or imposed on the piece by the ear itself. Following a popular British song called Anthem in Heaven, an arrangement was made for the national anthem of the United States. During the Battle of Fort McHenry, Key observed the American flag flying high and approximately 1,800 bombs being dropped on it.
On September 14, 1814, Francis Scott Key wrote the Star-Spangled Banner. flag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the U.S. The lyrics come from “The Defence of Fort M’Henry”, a poem written on September 14, 1814, by the then 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbor during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. The “Star-Spangled Banner” is the national anthem of the United States of America.
